Over the course of his more than 20-year career, Robert Lewandowski has broken numerous football records in addition to winning titles and scoring a ton of goals. Robert Lewandowski was gifted athletically from birth. His father, Krzysztof Lewandowski, was a professional who had attended sports schools, while his mother, Iwona, was a volleyball player.They both went on to work as physical education teachers. The first clubs in Poland
The native of Warsaw started playing football for Partizan Leszno in 1996. He did not, however, remain there for long; after just a year, he relocated to Legia in Warsaw, where he spent almost seven years playing for the youth team. Robert Lewandowski joined Legia Warsaw’s reserve squad in 2005. He immediately started scoring goals in the second division once it became evident that he was gifted enough for the top team. Sadly, he suffered an injury soon after, which led to the termination of his contract. In 2006, he was forced to relocate once more, this time to Znic Pruszków in the third tier. With 15 goals, Robert Lewandowski became the league’s leading scorer for the first time!
The rookie joined Lech Poznań in the premier division in 2008. He and Lech Poznań won the Polish Cup and the Super Cup a year later. He could no longer win any titles!
Career in Dortmund
Lewandowski became well-known in Europe very fast due to his talent. International clubs, particularly German ones, paid attention. The player was signed to a four-year contract by Borussia Dortmund in 2010. Lewandowski participated in 33 of 34 Bundesliga games during his first campaign, tallying eight goals overall.
With Borussia Dortmund, he won the Bundesliga in 2012 and became the third-highest scorer in the league with an outstanding 22 goals. He scored three goals against Bayern Munich in May of that year, giving his club a double. He became the first player to score all four goals in a Champions League semifinal in 2013, setting still another record. He scored 20 goals in 2014, making him the Bundesliga’s leading scorer.
Bavaria as a starting point for success
Bayern Munich tried to sign the extraordinary talent after his triumph at Borussia Dortmund. Lewandowski became the highest-paid player in the Bundesliga in 2016 after renewing his contract with FC Bayern, earning €15 million annually plus €7 million in bonuses. Lewandowski set another record in the 2019–2020 season when he scored four goals in 15 minutes.
